Our Work

Our Work

As we approach the momentous centenary of the RSS in 2025, Project Sewa Parmo Dharma assumes a significance that is difficult to overstate. This upcoming milestone offers us a unique opportunity to celebrate an entire century of selfless dedication to the cause of nation-building. Against the backdrop of this historic event, our project aims to capture the essence of the RSS's journey, tracing its evolution from a small collective to one of the most prominent humanitarian and service-oriented organizations of our time.

The RSS, in its early years, placed a strong emphasis on 'Suraksha', which was a vital need of the hour. It played an instrumental role in safeguarding the cultural and social fabric of our nation during a period of great turmoil. However, as India's statehood became established, particularly in the aftermath of our independence, the focus gradually shifted to ‘Sewa' - a shift inspired by the profound philosophy of 'nar sewa, narayan sewa'.

Sewa Paramo Dharmah

This transformation was underscored by the belief that 'nar sewa' leads to character-building, which in turn fuels the engine of nation-building. This shift marks a pivotal juncture in the RSS's journey, showcasing its adaptability and commitment to serving humanity in new and profound ways.

It is noteworthy that the landscape of development discourse has predominantly centred around organizations adopting a 'secular' perspective, often characterized by a rights-based approach. It is, thus, imperative to shed light on an alternative narrative, one that highlights the profound impact of Sewa propagated by the RSS.

Objective and Purpose

The central objective of Project Sewa Parmo Dharma is to meticulously document and showcase the profound impact and transformative power of Sewa, as propagated by the RSS. This ambitious endeavour aims to present Sewa as a distinctive humanitarian model, transcending conventional charity and philanthropy, and underlining its role as a global catalyst for positive change. The project aims to celebrate the ethos of Sewa and elevate India's stature on the global stage while inspiring similar citizen-led initiatives worldwide.
